As a volunteer you will receive in return so much more than you give. The satisfaction of knowing that you have had an impact on a student's life and truly made a difference makes the effort truly worthwhile.
You can become a volunteer at The Discovery Center and help with various aspects to the program.

Volunteer to be a member of the Parents Committee
The Discover Center initiated a parents committee in the spring of 2009 with a focus on improving communication with the parents, receiving feedback and suggestions to improve The Discovery Center program, building relationships with parents from different schools and assist in mentoring parents new to The Discovery Center Program.
In the spring of 2009 parents from Mary Hooker Environmental Studies Magnet School in Hartford and East Windsor Middle School organized and attended a baseball game at The Rock Cats in New Britain where they had a chance to meet and socialize with each other.
One of the most important roles of the parent committee will be to provide information and support for parents new to The Discovery Center. This would include attending parent information sessions and/or calling other parents to answer any questions they may have.
Membership on the Parents Committee is open to parents, legal guardians and grandparents of the students participating in The Discovery Center Program.
For more information and to join the Parents Committee please contact:
