The following list offers a suggestion of the amount of clothes necessary for a five day session. You never know what tomorrow's skies may bring, so remember to plan for Connecticut's changing weather. Also, please bring old clothing that will not be destroyed by sitting or kneeling on the ground.
Mark everything clearly with your name as many clothes and items look alike. We have enclosed a packing list in the back of the registration form, please feel free to detach that page or print this one and keep it for your own records.
WHAT TO BRING:
Bring old clothes that are no longer good enough for school
(We are outdoors a good part of every day)
BASIC STARTER LIST:
Backpack
Water Bottle
6-8 pairs of underwear
Shower Shoes/Water Shoes
1 raincoat or poncho (A Must!)
Rain boots if you have them
Sleeping bag (or sheets and blanket)
Pillow
Towel
Toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc) in a Ziploc bag
Hair brush or comb
Vaseline or Chapstick
WARM WEATHER:
3-5 short sleeve shirts
2-3 long sleeved shirts
3 pairs of long pants
6-8 pairs of socks
1 sweater or sweatshirt
Sleep wear
3 pairs of shorts
COLD WEATHER:
1-2 short sleeve shirts
3-5 short sleeve shirts
3-4 pairs of long pants
6-8 pairs of warm socks
2-3 sweaters or sweatshirts
Warm Sleepwear
Warm Jacket
Warm Hat and Gloves/Mittens
OPTIONAL:
Books, Cards, Camera and Film
DO NOT BRING:
Electronics (games, radios, cell phones, etc)
Spray deodorants or perfumes (due to allergies)
Food or candy
New clothes
Money
**All Medications (including Tylenol, etc) must be given to your child's teacher in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child's name... not packed!
We must remind you that the Discovery Center is not responsible for lost items.
Remember to bring items that are not special or expensive in case they are lost.
