LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS AT THE DISCOVERY CENTER

In response to numerous requests from teachers and school administrators The Discovery Center with funding from ING, Aetna, and The Elizabeth Carse Foundation created, developed and implemented Leadership Workshops for students and educators.

For over 17 years, The Discovery Center has conducted a successful educational diversity program that has been recognized as an effective program to teach students to respect, honor and value others from a different cultural, racial or socio – economic backgrounds.

Leadership Workshops for Educators are an interactive and a proven diversity education training program designed for educators to conduct effective classes for a diverse student population.

Leadership Workshops are designed to:

  • Teach the meaning of diversity and how it is reflected in every day action.
  • Recognize when discriminatory behavior takes place, both knowingly and unknowingly, and teaches appropriate behavior.
  • Teach inclusion and acceptance of difference.
  • Emphasize the importance of practicing inclusion in daily activities.
