Your donation will directly benefit the thousands of students who participate in the diversity/teambuilding and academic programs at The Discovery Center. The fund raising goal for FY 09 -10 is $1,025, 000 for operation expenses and future needs of The Discovery Center.

- Gifts of Stock
Gifts of Securities are a wonderful way to support The Discovery Center's mission. They can be a very cost effective way to make a difference in a child's life while providing a tax deduction for the current, full market value of the security. If you have had an appreciated security that has been held for more than 12 months you can receive the full value of the security as a deduction at the time you make the donation. This is especially helpful if you have held the security for more than 10 years.
The three main types of securities that you can donate to The Discovery Center
• Publicly traded stock in a corporation
• Shares in a mutual fund
• Bonds
You can donate securities in one of the following ways:
• Securities may be transferred directly to The Discovery Center by your broker. If you are interested please contact: Allan Wilson at 860 – 284 – 9489 or by email at allanwilson@discoveringdiversity.com.
• Unendorsed stock certificate should be mailed directly to The Discovery Center's office by registered mail with a letter stating the purpose of the gift.
• A signed stock power should be sent under separate cover with a copy of the transmittal letter.
