In 2005, The Discovery Center was recognized as The Multicultural Program of the Year by the Connecticut NAME Conference on Multicultural Education for outstanding contributions to improving education for all students, addressing discrimination and promoting diversity.
In 2006, The Discovery Center was recognized as the Diversity Program of the Year by the Junior League of Hartford.

AFFILIATIONS, STANDARDS & EVALUATIONS
The Discovery Center is a member and conducts the residential program at Camp Woodstock; an accredited camp program by the American Camping Association.
The Discovery Center is a member and follows the ethical and fund raising standards established by the Association of Fund Raising Professionals.
State of Connecticut academic standards for 5th & 6th grade students in math, science and language arts are followed.
The Discovery Center is a member of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association.
Each year The Discovery Center program is evaluated by representative from The Capital Region Education Council.
Independent evaluations are conducted by the University of Hartford Center for Social Research.
